'Kustom Kunst Kommandos' is a live homage to the Kenneth Anger short film 'Kustom Kar Kommandos'. A female take on the homo erotic short; this performance charts the chrome, the shine & the buff of a motoristic love affair. A short dreamlike piece ; it explores questions of re-presentation and the cinematic framing of live performance, playing with conventions, expectations and portrayal of the hyper feminine. (Did I mention I become a human carwash?) The audience are seated inside a parked car, with a second tier of viewers observing from the sidelines.

Here is the film of 'Filth Queen' from Beacons, Icons & Dykons at the Cube.

Thanks to Paul at Puddy Digital I am wading through last years documentation & he is doing some major editing. This is a very short film of a very long piece! (4 hours)

I am delighted to be producing a wonderous little cabaret as part of Bristols contemporary performance festival Mayfest. It will featutre the cream of the crop of Bristol's live art and transgressive arts scene. Ok, I'm going to stop using that word, it just tickles me so much.

As Dot Cotton would say 'I'm not one to gossip but...' Betty Bruiser is currently embroiled in a furtive plan involving one very renowned 'Transgressive' film maker and soon to be visitor to this fair city. I've said to much... Meanwhile she is dusting off the broken tiara & cracking a few eggs in preparation for a performance of 'Filth Queen' at the Cube in May. If you missed it the first time round, be sure to come along and see this delightfuly eggy little show.
'Messy, decadent but strangely sensitive and touching...'

I just thought I'd share my bizarre experience of being a guest on Dr Phil Hammond's show in Radio Bristol last week! Not a regular listener to Radio Bristol? No nor me really, but I do enjoy flouncing round there, making up names for the visitor's pass and chatting to the invisible millions... Usually when I go on Dr Phil's show (see how I call him Dr Phil? He's a real doctor and everything!) It’s to promote my work with Drastic Productions, talk about arts & health and mental health and it’s all very proper. Not this time.
